Last Updated: February 3, 2026

1. Introduction and Scope

This Cookie Policy explains how Estate Plan Studio ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you use our website and services. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you specific rights regarding personal information we collect, including information collected through cookies. We describe those rights and how to exercise them below and in our Privacy Policy.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

We use cookies (small text files stored on your device), and may use local storage and session storage, to run our services, keep you signed in, remember preferences, and—where we use them and where required by law—to analyze usage with your consent.

Information we collect via these technologies may constitute personal information under California law (for example, identifiers and internet or other electronic network activity information). We use and protect that information as described in our Privacy Policy and do not sell it.

3. Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary (Essential) Cookies

These are required for the site and services to work and for security. You cannot turn them off in our system without affecting functionality.

We do not use strictly necessary cookies for advertising, and we do not sell personal information collected through these cookies.

3.2 Functional / Preference Cookies

These support features you choose (e.g., theme or layout preferences). Where we store such choices in local storage (e.g., theme, layout mode), we treat that in line with this policy and our Privacy Policy. We do not sell this information.

3.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies (Optional)

Where we use analytics to understand how our services are used and to improve them, we do so only with your consent where required by law. Such cookies may collect information about how you use our site (e.g., pages visited, general usage patterns). That information may be personal information under the CCPA. We use it only for the purposes described here and in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information. If we use third-party analytics, we describe that in our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, provide a way to opt out or withdraw consent.

4. Local Storage and Session Storage

We use local storage for purposes such as:

  • Saving your sign-in state and preferences (e.g., theme, layout)
  • Storing draft estate planning data on your device so you can continue later
  • Remembering terms acceptance and similar choices

We do not use local or session storage for advertising or to sell your personal information. Data in local storage stays on your device; clearing it is done through your browser or device settings.

5. Your Choices and How to Manage Cookies

  • Browser settings: You can block or delete cookies (and clear local storage) in your browser. Blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies will affect sign-in and core functionality.
  • Cookie consent / preference tool: Where we offer a cookie consent or preference tool on our site, you can use it to manage optional cookies (e.g., analytics).
  • Do not sell or share (California): We do not sell personal information, including data collected via cookies. Even though we do not sell, California residents have the right to opt out of any future "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide a clear "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link where required.

6. California Residents: Your Privacy Rights

Under the CCPA/CPRA, if you are a California resident you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, including through cookies (categories, purposes, and, in certain cases, specific pieces).
  • Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of "sale" and "sharing" of personal information (we do not currently sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising; we will honor opt-out requests and provide a link if that changes).
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to perform our services and other permitted purposes.
  • Non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

To exercise these rights (including in relation to data collected via cookies), use the process described in our Privacy Policy (e.g., account settings, data export, account deletion, or contacting us at the address below). We will verify your identity as required by law before fulfilling requests.

7. Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will change when we do. We will notify you of material changes as described in our Privacy Policy (e.g., by email or a notice on the site). Continued use of our services after those changes means you accept the updated policy.
